Barbara herself does a lot of volunteer work within the local community. She leads by example. After hurricane Katrina when FEMA could not help everyone that was put into hardship, rebuild and go on with life, this is when Barbara realized that there was a need for help with housing. These houses even have sprinklers and all the amenities that a family would need to live comfortably. Barbara Stokes worked with the local Habitat for Humanity in Huntsville, Alabama. She helped get them all new supplies to build with. Everything from wood, screws to drywall that will help keep the buildings that were built free from mold and leaks. This is something that is very helpful and amazing for the non-profit charity. Most of the time when these non-profits get donations it is scraps. Barbara Stokes went above and beyond the usual donation.
